What happened to the concept of the citizen legislator and the role as leader as servant? Many leaders today are acting like paid mercenaries rather than servants of the people. When we look at the corporate sector we see people who seem to be so obsessed with economics and profit that are blind to their primary job which is truly to serve the interest of their customers and contribute to the well being of the public at large. If we want change we need not wait for the ballot box, but rather we can volunteer and contribute to candidates who are truly making a difference. We can impact a companies bottom line by how we spend our money and invest in stock.
